Quadricycles approved after big controversy
The most controversial auto car got an approval by the government almost after a decade.
Only Europe has a quadricycle segment, Renault Twizy is an example, now our own small car between the norms of three wheeler and basic passenger car will run on Indian roads. The ministry had formed a road safety committee last year and they were examining all aspects of safety and other regulations. Finally now the subject is approved and has been pushed by Rajeev Bajaj for the small REGO . It will be first in four wheeler manufacturing with Bajaj Auto.
Bajaj introduced the small REGO in Auto Expo 2012. As per Bajaj this small car is safer than autorikshaw and environmental friendly, it weigh less than 400KG. It will run on power of 200ccsingle-cylinder liquid-cooled rear mounted DTS-I engine, its almost as good as 20bhp.
The seating will be 2+2 option, length-2.75., width-1-3m, turning radius-3.5m. This small car although is approved by the government but still have certain rules and regulations to own one. This vehicle has to have ‘Q’ sign, cannot run on highways and cannot use as passenger cars as of now. This vehicle can be used for transport purposes and can carrying passengers and goods both.
Bajaj invested more than 500Crores to develop the Quadricycles platform, small Quadricycle going to be next big car on Indian roads.
