DELHI GO CAR-FREE ON JANUARY 22-2016
New Delhi,22 November: whole Delhi will hold car-free day on January22 next year.This was announced by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. But he clarified, “I am not saying that the entire Delhi will follow our appeal. Even if 5 to 10 per cent of people participate, 10 per cent pollution will come down which will be big achievements for us,” he said, adding that even he will cycle to his office that day. Satisfied after Delhi residents enthusiastically participated in the second edition of the “Car-Free Day” on Sunday, Kejriwal vowed to soon take Car-Free Day from being symbolic to a reality. On Sunday, Delhi Government held the second “Car-Free Day” in Dwarka (on the road stretch between Sector 3-13 and Sector 7-9), which witnessed a cycle rally led by Kejriwal, and participation of school children, and IAScar1 and DANICS officers. Meanwhile, the next Car Free Day to be held on December 22 will be organised in East Delhi’s Patparganj area, which is Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s constituency.
