Comedian Rajpal and his wife sent to police custody in fraud of Rs.5 crore
New Delhi, 3rd December 2013:
The Delhi High Court Tuesday ordered Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, known for his comic stint in Hindi films, and his wife to 10 days police custody. On the basis of a complaint that has been registered by a Delhi-based entrepreneur, Delhi police arrested the wife and husband for concealing facts about an Rs5 crore-recovery suit.
Taking strong exception to the disappearance of Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav and his wife in the court, Justice S. Murlidhar alerted Rajpal and his wife of issuing non-bailable warrant (NBW) on their continuous failure to appear. However, Rajpal came to the court before lunch but his wife failed to appear. The judge demanded the presence of his wife in the Registrar General’s office and directed her to appear before it Dec 3.
The judge of Delhi High Court also issued a disrespect of court notice in opposition to two lawyers, who represents Yadav and his wife. The court told the lawyer of the couple that to inform tell their client the consequence would be severe. The court also added that the lawyers are dealing with the court here. The court doesn’t think the culprit is aware. If the court issues a non-bailable warrant, they will be brought here.
Rajpal and Radha took a loan of Rs 5 crores from a Delhi-based entrepreneur, M.G. Agarwal. Agarwal is an owner of Murli Projects and he is famous for making their Hindi debut directional film ‘Ata Pata Laapata’ (2010). When Rajpal not even interested to repay the loan, Agarwal registered a case against the couple in the high court.
