Win Car, bikes and free air tickets by reporting traffic violation
New Delhi,5 December: Now the residents of the Delhi will get a chance to win a car, a motorbike or free air tickets for reporting traffic violations through a mobile application under the “Traffic Sentinel Scheme”, said Delhi Police. The residents of the Delhi will be benefitted under the scheme to report traffic offences and will inculcate a habit of traffic discipline on roads with an attractive reward system in which the participants will be provided points, making them eligible for bumper prizes, including a Maruti car, a Honda motorcycle, a foreign tour and free air tickets. “They will be entitled for a prize. In addition, there will be bumper prizes from time to time through lucky draw,” Bassi said. The users, who collect 100 reward points, will get dinner coupons, movie tickets and free talktime. For each photograph or video uploaded, the user will get an acknowledgement and a unique transaction number. If the offence and the vehicle number is clear, it will be validated by Delhi Police headquarters and reward points will be allocated to the sender.vehicles
The participant will be intimated through an email. This will be a participative scheme, and will come as an additional feature in the already popular mobile applications of the Delhi Police. Delhi Police Commissioner Bhim Sen Bassi said while launching the Traffic Sentinel Scheme on 3 of this month. “The mode of reporting the offences will be simple—just send a photograph or video through the app. It will only ask basic information such as the place of offence, along the date and time,” Bassi said. “In GPS-enabled phones, the information will be automatically embedded on the photograph,” he added. The scheme will be accessible through the existing apps: ‘Delhi Police One Touch Away’ on Android and ‘Delhi Traffic Police’ on iOS. The police have identified 11 traffic violations that can be reported. The maximum of five points will be provided to people who report driving against the flow of traffic.
