Review meeting to implementation odd and even number formula
New Delhi,8 December: Arvind Kejriwal Government will prepare a detailed policy to implementation of the odd and even number formula for the plying of private vehicles in the national Capital planned to be rolled out from January 1 next year. in this regard Chief Minister has called a review meeting on Tuesday with Ministers and officials concerned wherein the detailed plan will be put before him. The Committee prepared a detailed report on the implementation of the formula. “In today’s meeting, several issues, including cleaning of roads, movement of odd-even (numbered) vehicles, rampant use of generators, introduction of more buses and frequency of metro trains, were discussed.
Earlier in the day, Delhi Home Minister Satyender Jain said both the odd and even-numbered cars will be allowed to ply on Sundays, adding that it is the “responsibility” of the Delhi Police to implement the formula to curb air pollution in the city. Jain, who is also the Health and PWD Minister, said the Government is holding a series of meetings to come up with a strategy in this regard and the DMRC will also be asked to increase its working hours to accommodate a huge crowd of passengers. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had on December 5 said the Government would discontinue the move after 10 to 15 days if people faced problems.
