New Delhi,22 December: Around December 22-23 strong winds due to Western disturbances is expected to originate and their obstruction caused in the Western Himalayan region on way to Iran will result in heavy snowfall in parts of Northern India on December 24.The icy cold Northerly winds, flowing from the hilly regions is then expected to bring down the temperature of Delhi and regions around it sharply.It may go dip to 2 degree Celsius. Compared to previous years, the winter is setting in late in Delhi this year. Earlier, the cold spell which is been experienced now could also be felt in November. Situated at a low density zone, with winds containing no moisture, the forecasters have also alerted that situation of foggy conditions with low visibility levels is expected to come in and the plans to tackle with such tough situations will have to be made by the authorities and the system accordingly. Even though Delhi has witnessed temperatures dropping to 5 degrees Celsius, the flow of South-Westerly winds will not result in sudden decrease in temperatures said the forecasters.
