Movie Review: Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela
Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Starring: Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Supriya Pathak Kapur, Richa Chadda
Ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has once again tried to explore romance in grand style adapting Shakespeare’s ethos of stirring romantic feeling, gestures and promiscuousness scripted in his all kinds of his novels. Shakespeare’s classic novel ‘Romeo and Juliet’ is the basic sublime of the movie ‘Goliyon ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ in which stunning damsel Deepika as Leela and heartthrob Ranveer as Ram seem ready to bewitch the audience artistically in desi style.
The story clearly depicts rivalry at its verve and surge between the two families. The prolong clash of 500 years was flourishing by the day until Leela, an unbridled maiden, falls in love for daunting Ram. Both’s vibes exchange with each other and their chemistry clicks despite having intolerable enmity that may rouse gunfire-like situation. But the saga of bloodshed seems never ending amid the two families and consequently, their pious and true love as well as bahus (son-in-law) becomes the ultimate victims of the trickery and mutiny. Regardless of any age-boundary, the young passionate couple appears kissing, cuddling and encountering sexual tensions amidst cut-throat rivalry for settling their love to far from the ambience of hatred. The fusion of raunchiness and ras denotes commercial tint from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s store.
The grandeur and opulent sets add vintage look in the daunting deserts where the audience lives moment of sure joy as well as awe. Deepika is spreading enchantment of her beauty and elegance through her gorgeous and flawless look and while dancing, she resembles the queen of myriad hearts. Ranveer has tried to do something new by his makeover such as lean and packed body, flying layers. Richa Chadda and Supriya Pathak Kapur have shown their acting flare to the marvel’s extent.
To enjoy the splendid style of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, witnessing Deeping dispersing her hex and Ranveer in his new avatar, ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela’ is a classic choice for you.
