New Delhi,23 December: An incident of firing took place Wednesday morning inside the Karkardooma District Court room, leaving one Delhi police constable dead and three other officials injured. The state government promised to give Rs 1 crore as compensation to the family of the deceased policeman. The firing took place inside the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Sunil Gupta inside court number 73. The incident took place when an accused person was produced before the court for a hearing in a case registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station. Court sources said that head constable Ram Kumar, the Naib court, sustained five bullets during firing. At least three persons, involved during the firing fled the spot. The court sources added that a country-made pistol has been recovered from the spot, while another pistol has been recovered from the toilet.
