DDCA controversy Delhi govt to hold special Assembly session Tomorrow
New Delhi,21 December: The Delhi Cabinet will convene a special Assembly session on Tuesday to debate the alleged irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), and an inquiry commission will probe the alleged financial bungling in the cricket body, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday. The announcement came minutes after Union Finance Minister and former DDCA chief Arun Jaitley filed defamation cases against Kejriwal and five other Aam Aadmi Pary (AAP) leaders — Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Deepak Bajpayee — for allegedly making “false and defamatory” statements against him over the alleged irregularities in DDCA. “Del (Delhi) Cabinet resolves to set up Commission of Enquiry on DDCA scam. Spl (Special) session of assembly tomo (tomorrow) 2 (to) discuss DDCA scam n CBI raids on Del Sectt (secretariat),” Kejriwal tweeted. In the defamation suit filed in the Delhi High Court, Jaitley has sought Rs.10 crore as damages from the AAP leaders “for indulging in slander and baseless allegations”.
Jaitley also filed a criminal defamation complaint against them in the Patiala House court seeking their prosecution under Section 500 of the Indian Penal Code.
